Presented by SmokeFree WA
28th September to 5th October 2003

The Perth branch of Comhaltas Ceoltoiri Eireann hosted a week of workshops, sessions, concerts and competitions starting at the end of September 2003.
This was a great success for all who attended and I would like to thank everybody from the volunteers to the sponsors and performers who made this all possible.

Visiting Artists- Trad Musician of the Year
We were lucky to have John Carty coming out from Ireland (fiddle and banjo - mainly, but lots of instruments). John Carty has just been awarded the Traditional Musician of the Year Award from TG4, the Irish TV Station.
A late change has meant that Colin McLeod didn't come but Chris Duncan (Scottish Fiddle) provided a great highlight for the Festival.
A special thanks goes to Fiona Doherty (fiddle), Alex Burke (flute and whistle) and Jenny Gall (Singer) for all the help they gave during the week.
As a late addition we also had Michael O'hAlmhain come out as a representative of the executive of Comhaltas in Ireland to open the week and expand the range of performance in the concerts.

Fremantle Prison Museum
There's no sinister connection here
as has been suggested.
Just that a lot of Irish were sent here
in years gone by.
